Every year our taxes increase and yet each year it harder to determine where all of our money goes. Are our children graduating with the skills they'll need to be successful? Do we feel safe in our homes? Is our local economy growing? Is our health care being delivered in the most effective way?
The only thing that seems to be on the rise is the amount of government that every taxpayer is forced to support. New regulations, increased fees, more intrusion.
Freedom Focus is a action committee that is focused on improving the accountability and the results of our local Odessa and Ector County governments. Our goal is to rein in the growth of our local tax entities, to lessen their intrusions into our everyday life, to incease the effectiveness of governmental bodies and to demand accountability.
Freedom Focus is committed to promoting leaders that are acutely aware that their job is to represent the voters who elected them, that are unwavering in the face of criticism, steadfast when confronted with adversity, and are committed to building limited federal, state, and local conservation governments.
Freedom Focus understands that the real key to local economic growth is to limit the interference of government in local businesses and will work to repeal unnecessary local regulations which are placed on citizens and businesses and will diligently work to ensure that needless new laws and regulations are not enacted.
The only way to check government growth and to lessen the tax burden is for all of us to get involved. Given the current size of local governments and their entrenched bureacracies it will take an organized and aggresive effort to make our tax entities respond to us - the voters.
Regaining our God given and constitutionally protected rights will require a community wide effort. It will require volunteers to give unselfishly of their time. It will require money to support good candidates. It will require a think tank of individuals to plot and execute strategy. It will take technology. And, above, all, it will take common sense, wisdom and a willingness to stand firm and work hard until our objectives are completed.
